Fairytale marquee for Chantelle and Preston's fairytale wedding:
County Marquees' celebrity connections gathered pace with the provision of a marquee for the wedding of Chantelle Houghton and Samuel Preston of Celebrity Big Brother fame.
Chantelle (the one who wasn't a celebrity) and Preston (the lead singer of the Ordinary Boys) fell in love in front of the cameras, and have now cemented their relationship.
The theme for the wedding was ivory and roses - matching Chantelle's ivory dress - so the marquee was lined in ivory with an ivory swag. The marquee was decorated with deep red roses everywhere.
Photos of the event with our marquee in the background are available to see in the 5th September issue of OK magazine.
Marquee supplied by County Marquees features in the ITV drama Lewis:
Kevin Whately starred as John Thaw's sidekick, Sergeant Robbie Lewis, in the detective series Inspector Morse for 13 years. He recently reprised the character in a two hour film for ITV1, called Lewis.
Our marquee's starring role occurred early in the programme. A lunch party took place inside a 40' x 30' marquee. The tent had all the trimmings - lining, hard floor and carpet. And it had a lucky escape when a distraught young man drove his car towards the marquee as if about crash into it. Luckily, he stopped just at the edge.

Shortage of Festive Venues is Covered by Marquee Suppliers
“ No room at the inn” is a traditional christmas theme that has now extended to festive parties as the limited availability has forced companies to seek alternative accommodation.
The sight of marquees springing up in car parks and garden squares across London is becoming increasingly familiar.
Camilla Bain of Bubblefish, a Paddington-based party organizer said that the marquee party was simply an example of supply meeting demand. “Everywhere is is packed at christmas so this is just an alternative. What tends to happen is that people put up a tent for the whole of December, theme it up and sell it as a package” she said.
David Higgs, founder of County Marquees, said that a number of factors had contributed to the trend. “Changes in the weather have had an effect as generally it will not be too cold, and also the heating technology of the marquees has improved enormously” he said.
The change in party habits is good news for the contractors such as County Marquees. “The peak season used to run from March to September but over the last five years it has increased and now it really runs from March to December although it does stop dead on January 1”.
